After More Than 25 Years Amarillo Restaurant Closing It’s Doors
After the sudden closing of Malcolm's in Amarillo last week I thought we were going to get a break. We needed some time to recuperate from that closing. Let the other Amarillo restaurants just coast through clear and free. No more closings.
That is what we wanted. That is not what we got. Just like that, another one has made the announcement. The only good thing is they are giving us a week to say goodbye. I guess that is the grain of salt in this story.
If you like sushi. If you like hibachi. You are going to have to say goodbye to a long-standing restaurant on Soncy. Sukura Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar has decided it is time to say goodbye.
The announcement was made earlier on social media. The place we seem to be casually scrolling through when something big like this hits us. We don't really get any warning, it just pops up in our feed. It stings. We sit there for a moment and read the post a time or two just to make sure we read it right.
Then we start to see our friends sharing the post and we know it's true. We see it more than once and it starts to sink in.
Sakura was just one of those places. A friend of mine and I would always meet there for lunch. That was our go-to. Now it is closing its doors next weekend. At least we have a chance to say goodbye. It seems when places like this close their doors we have to look for that silver lining. Thank you, Sakura for being that go-to place for a lot of us.
