The Most Frustrating Thing When You Buy Clothes In Amarillo

Not too long ago, news headlines ran for weeks across the state of Texas about a stop made in Amarillo by Will Ferrell. While parts of his trip were what you would expect, there was one stop that got my attention.

That's how I came across one of the most confusing things I've ever seen in a clothing store.

Clothez Exchange In Amarillo, Texas

On South Georgia is a store, that until recently, I had never been to. I've had several people recommend it. Will Ferrell dropped by on his way through town. It seemed like I was missing out.

So, when I needed a new outfit for one of my kids, and swimsuits for both of them, I made the trip.

When I stepped inside I was immediately struck by two sights. One, there's a pretty nice sized selection. The store is very well stocked and organized.

Two, there were key chains with a buffet of multi-colored tags attached to them. The second point is where my confusion and frustration began.

It sounds simple enough. Find an article of clothing you think you'd like to add to your personal collection. Find the price tag, and identify the color of it.

Once you've done that, look through the rainbow attached to your wrist and see what the discount for that particular color is. Simple. Right?

No.

Before I go any further, I'll admit that I like the prices of the merchandise in Clothez Exchange. They aren't extreme, and seemed reasonable. However...

I found a shirt for my son and excitedly checked to see what the discount would be. It was a pink tag. I checked the key chain color guide on my wrist and it said...

Regular. No discount.

Let The Frustration Begin

Fair enough. It makes sense that with all of these different colors to sort through, one would need to represent, "This item doesn't have a discount. The price you see is the price you pay."

I grabbed a second article and checked. I looked for the gray tag, and when I finally found it, it read...

Regular.

Thus began my frustration. I love the store. I do. Everyone was friendly. The merchandise was great. Prices weren't bad. It still didn't make sense to me, and almost felt like I was being taunted.

I Still Recommend Clothez Exchange, And Will Be Going Back

Why do we need more than one tag for "Regular?"

Eventually, I just committed to memory which tags I wanted to find and went about my search that way.

All in all, the trip went well. We found what we needed and the kids loved their selections. Still, I can't wrap my brain around why we need more than one tag for regular price.
