The Insane Amount Of Booze Consumed In Texas
A recent study into the drinking habits of Texans produced some pretty insane numbers when it comes to how much we drink. The study, by MyBioSource, examined our drinking habits during the winter months.

What they found is that Texans, over the winter, put away 761,689,602 alcoholic drinks. That is an insane number of drinks.
Considering that alcohol isn't that difficult to find, you can get it delivered to your house, and that insane number of drinks starts to make more sense. Texas has a massive population, and a lot of us like to have a drink once in a while.
Why Do People From Texas Drink So Much
The reasons why we drank so much may not be what you might expect. I originally thought it would be stress. You had the election, costs were going up, and when some people get stressed, they drink.
That was only part of the story. The study broke down the reasons why we drink, and the number one reason was socializing. Half of the people surveyed said that was the top reason.

It makes sense considering the winter holidays are all about getting together with loved ones. Plus, we all like to toast the new year when it finally rolls around.
The most popular drink was wine, which isn't surprising considering Texas has over 400 wineries. Beer was a close second. Vodka and Whiskey tied for third.
