Just in case you've forgotten, Friday is Veteran's Day. While there are many places that will be serving up all kinds of meal specials in Amarillo, there are some services that we will going without.

Here is what will be closed for Veteran's Day in Amarillo when it comes to the City.

Let's Start With The Hot Button Issue Of Trash

I've never seen a populace get so worked up over their trash, not that it isn't warranted in some cases. Just a heads up, tomorrow's trash service will be a little different.

According to a press release issued by the City of Amarillo, tomorrow's residential and commercial trash collection should have been handled today. Landfill and brush sites will be closed for Veteran's Day.

Commercial operations, landfill, and brush sites open back up on Saturday.

Libraries Are Closed

The City's libraries will also be closed for Veteran's Day. So, you'll have an extra day to get that book finished.

Amarillo City Transit Will Operate, Just A Bit Differently

According to the press release, Amarillo City Transit will be running on a Saturday schedule for Veteran's Day. The offices will be closed.

City Hall? Closed.

If you have any business at City Hall, it's going to have to wait. The press release states that City Hall will be closed in observance of Veteran's Day as well.

Thank you to all of the men and women who have stepped up and made the sacrifice to serve our nation. For a list of events and specials that are happening for Veteran's Day, click this link.
