Everyone deserves a happy holiday season. There's not a single reason why we all can't enjoy the cheer and wonder that comes this time of year. In Amarillo, Santa is going above and beyond.

Here is how Santa is doing more for everyone in Amarillo this year.

The Christmas Heart Project In Amarillo

December 12 is the date to put on your calendar. There's going to be a lot of Christmas magic at work on that day to bring holiday cheer to some amazing kids.

The project was designed to give area kids who have special needs a chance to meet Santa in a non-threatening environment. It's chance to meet Santa away from all the noise, flashing lights, and mobs of people.

It's an event designed with those who have sensory and developmental needs, and for those on the Autism Spectrum.

It's on December 12, and it happens at four separate locations.

  • Calvary Baptist Church in Canyon - 800 8th Street
  • Four Points By Sheraton - 1911 I-40 East (Elf Only)
  • The Local Wedge - 5461 McKenna Square Suite 102
  • A Time To Remember - 708 SW 16th Avenue

The event lasts from 1 PM until 8 PM. Photography will not be provided, so you'll want to take your phone or camera.

Tickets are free, and you're going to need one ahead of time.

Santa's Little Helpers Spreading Out Across The City

The four locations will be hosting the events simultaneously. This is thanks to a group of local "Santas" and an Elf. They're doing everything they can to make sure everyone has the opportunity to experience and enjoy the love and joy that is such a big part of this time of year.

If you have someone in your life who would benefit from this event, be sure to get your free ticket. If you know of someone, pass the information and a little cheer along.
