The old Johnny Carino’s  at Soncy and I40 is undergoing a spicy transformation. Say hello to Texas very own Chuy’s Tex Mex restaurant. Based in Austin, Chuy’s has 102 open locations, making Amarillo it’s 103 property to open this spring.

Chuy’s is famous for many different things, not only their great Tex Mex flavors but how they become such a large part of their local communities. Chuy's gives back to the communities they serve. Their founders, Mike and John, started Chuy's with the belief that they should always help the people in the neighborhoods where they do business, especially for their youngest members, children.

This foundation lives on today through their annual Children Giving to Children Toy Drive Parade in Austin and soon here in Amarillo and the many ways, big and small, their managers and staff lend a helping hand to their local communities.

Each Chuy's restaurant partners with a local charity and serves through fundraising and volunteering.

Chuy’s restaurants are also involved with what matters most to their customers; sponsoring little league teams, local event participation and donating thousands of dollars in Chuy's food to charities, schools and more.

Some notable menu items include:

Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken

The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo

Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom

Chuychanga

Grand Ma’s Rockin’ Rita
